It started almost two years ago when we called-up some of our good friends, who also happen to be some of Canada’s best known celebrity chefs, to see if they wanted to create a few new dishes for our Spring menu that was launching late March, 2020.
Two weeks before launch date, the entire world (ahem…) changed. We closed the doors to our restaurants and the world as we know it came to a grinding halt.
This past fall, we called ’em all up again and got the group back together (in a responsible and socially distanced manner) and got back to work to make some magic happen!
We called up Connie DeSousa and John Jackson. Connie is known for her amazing creations on Top Chef Canada, and plenty of other TV and magazine accolades, along with her business-partner in crime John Jackson—together creating CHARCUT and CHARBAR. We also called in our friend Alex Chen from Vancouver’s Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar. You might know Chef Chen as the 2018 WINNER of Iron Chef Canada—NBD! Finally, we rang up Mike Pigot, voted Calgary’s Best Chef in 2020, winner of Food Network’s Guy’s Grocery Games, and forever a part of the CRAFT fam.
We’ve pretty much rounded up a collection of the best As Seen on TV chefs in the country for a little project we called The Collab! Each of them has added new dishes to our new menu (launching Spring, 2021), with their own inspiration and touch.
